5. Lesbians are Taboo

In the graphic novel there is a constant reference to lesbians, which is completely ignored by the movie.  There is not only the lesbian superhero, Silhouette, but also throughout the cgraphic novel there is a “ebb and flow” of lesbian conversation around the news stand.

The graphic novel reader by the news stand gets a cameo, but hark not a whisper of lesbian conversation makes the movie. Such a shame, lets hope the director’s cut has the little lesbian cat fight.

Side note: People were complaining (especially other lesbians) about the killing of Silhouette (AKA Hate Crime).  In times of war (Cold War) the need for bigger and stronger military requires procreation. Anything that doesn’t support that concept is not only unpatriotic but limits the perception of strength.  The whole “gay = bad” is fully understood if you read the graphic novel (before seeing the movie) the Cold War weighs heavy on every character, even Silhouette.

4. Safest Place in the World is Florida

Nothing happens in Florida, nothing.  The sun is shinning, the residents are a peace and it seems the Doom Clock becomes irrelevant.

Kind of weird.  Historically not correct, especially during the Cold War.  Cuba being a boat ride away would make Florida kinda important.  But in the graphic novel and movie it is the safest place to retire, unless you are willing to move to the Midwest and be a farmer.

3. Capes are Not That Bad

In fact wings, mid calf boots and capes are welcomed attire.  Unlike the Incredibles, only one fatality is caused by a cape.

2. Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth

In the end the Geek and mild get the girl, but also your home remains untouched, electricity still works and your dark hideaway is completely unharmed.  So do not fret my fellow geeks.  Your gadgets and computer station will remained unharmed in any act of war disaster.

1. Cigarettes are the Most Terrifying Thing

In the graphic novel cigarettes are being lit one right after another by superheros and other characters.  It seems that the movie went out of the way to make sure that the superheros were not seen with a cigarette. Only the ‘bad guys’ were with a cigarette (Big Figure). In fact, the reason Silk Spector enters  Archie is for a lighter, which is completely missed in the movie.  In the movie she is just a nosy busy body.

In the graphic novel, when Rorschach’s past was reviewed, Rorschach defends himself against two large boys beating him by taking a cigarette and shoving it in one of the boys eyes. In the movie Rorschach is just a time bomb and bites off an ear. What the movie suggests : being deaf is better than being blind.

Claims Fall Short

• How fast a browser loads a page depends on your system configuration, network connection, and other factors
• You can download Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) now.
• More options other than Firefox or IE.  What about Opera? Flock? Maxthon? What about Google’s own Chrome?
• Technology changes what is the best this week will be the last next month.  It is ever changing.  
• Size is a huge factor, the Safari 4 is 18.4 mg  . . . that is allot of space.

Why a Browser War?

There isn’t any money in actually in developing browsers, year ago you had to pay for the latest download.  Now you can get any browser for free.  So, where is the money?   Profit making in browsers come from coding agreements, for example; Mozilla (Firefox) earned  $66 million in 2007 from its Firefox search deal with Google.

Which Browser is Best?

• That all depends on who you are?  Do you like to add all those pesky toolbars?  Then it doesn’t matter?
• Do you like to tweak your broswer for your personal and professional needs?  Firefox
• Do you have a Wii?  You have no choice but Opera.
• Do you have linux? Firefox
• Are you a tween who loves to social network? Flock
• Are you a Google lover? Chrome

Catherine the Great in officer attire.

The adaptation of the book “Love and Honor: A Novel”, written by Randall Wallace, will include Angelina Jolie playing Catherine the Great. According to IMDb, “The Mercenary: Love and Honor” is in pre-production, Jolie is the only individual casted.

The book/movie includes bloody swordfights, bawdy and beautiful noblewomen, political intrigue, lively historic details, and an exotic locale. Something for everyone.

In 1774, “Love and Honor” set during the American Revolution.  Britian is loosing the hold on their extended domain in the colonies and turn to Russia for military support.  British already realize that they are going to be in trouble if their American colonies revolt and have asked Catherine the Great, czarina of Russia, for 20,000 soldiers to assist in stamping out any resistance in America.

In response to this threat to independence, Benjamin Franklin sends Kieran Selkirk, a Virginia-born soldier, to Russia in the hopes of persuading Catherine the Great to extinguish British requests.   Once in St. Petersburg, the plan is for him to offer his services to Catherine in her fight against the rebellious Cossacks, thus gaining her favor and convincing her not to send the soldiers.

Randall Wallace brought the film industry “Bravehart” and “Pearl Harbor”, “Love and Honor” will not dissappoint. It is a dramatic suspenseful read. All of Wallace’s book convert into movies quite well. This too will not dissappoint.

According to RottenTomato all agree that the 2008 movie that “mechanical animation and a less-than stellar script make The Clone Wars a pale shadow of George Lucas’ once great franchise”.

Maybe, like M*A*S*H, the television series is more of a success. Although, I have a copy of the original M*A*S*H; I will not own a copy of the 2008 The Clone Wars DVD.
