January 2008 we cut the cable  cord and watch all our programming either through a online service, directly to the network’s site online or via DVDs from Netflix. It is not staring at a little monitor.  Our set up includes a switch box connecting Xbox, Wii, VCR, DVD player and PC laptop into a projector (Epson PowerLite 83c) and then onto a 100″ screen. Giving up cable (since January 2008) and exclusively getting content online, DVD or via Netflix has not been such a bad deal. The only shows we miss are shown exclusively on The Food Network and G4, boy do I miss “Ninja Warrior”, “Attack of the Show” and “Iron Chef America”. There is no hiding it, I love Netflix. But, the “Watch Instantly” option is limited only to a PC with IE browser. But now for $109.00 (including ground shipping) anyone can watch Netflix content without a PC with the new Roku Netflix Player! Here are some great things about watching…
