Failures of McCain

Failures of McCain

McCain loosing the 2008 Presidential Election had many factors.  The one point to make is that McCain lost both electoral and popular vote.  Therefore the evaluation of all the factors has a direct affect towards the populous vote. Pre Convention While seeking the party nomination it has been historically about speaking to the base. – McCain did not do that.  McCain kept his ‘maverick’ policies.  The problem affected the base so much that popular republicans publicly voiced their support for Clinton after all other candidates dropped out and McCain was the only remaining choice. What were the issues? “Amnesty”...

Palin Not Welcome in Northern Wisconsin

Palin Not Welcome in Northern Wisconsin

Going west on Ashland, WI Main Street passing all sort of businesses including shoe stores, movie theaters and even bank there isn’t a “Country First” McCain/Palin support sign to be seen. If you walk further down, stand in front or to the side of “Huhn Rx Drug” (non chain Pharmacy), look up three stories up and there are two small McCain/Palin signs.  The others “Country First” signs are scattered throughout lawns of the small town; if you count the signs you will not need two hands.  On main street between two clothing stores is an Obama Headquarters, while there isn’t any McCain...

Evangelical Children Gay Friendly but Still Anti-Abortion

According to a new poll for the PBS news program RELIGION & ETHICS NEWSWEEKLY, conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research Inc., although white evangelical Christians have voted overwhelmingly Republican for the last 20 years, younger evangelicals are less supportive of John McCain than evangelicals over 30. But the margin closes to 62-30 percent among white evangelicals ages 18-29. Younger white evangelical women are much less favorable toward Sarah Palin than their mothers, with only 46%...

First Debate : Jim Lehrer Made Me Laugh

First Debate : Jim Lehrer Made Me Laugh

I found much humor in the first 2008 Presidential Debate between McCain and Obama.  It was all about Jim Lehrer.  Here is a man that began his news career at The Dallas Morning News and Dallas Times-Herald, covering the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 and a retired Marine. Lehrer was considered an ‘Anderson Cooper’ of his generations. He should have kicked debate ass!  But, he was all comic relief. Here are the reasons that Jim Lehrer,  the first 2008 Presidential Debate Moderator, made me laugh. 1. Treated McCain and Obama like a Gay Couple in Marriage Counseling...

McCain Gay Employee

The Chief of Staff for John McCain’s Senate office is a guy named Mark Buse. Mark Buse is gay. Like every congressional chief of staff is gay, but still. Bombshell! Buse first began working for McCain back in 1984, and, except for a brief mysterious stint in the private sector (lobbying McCain, natch), has worked for him ever since.
