After months of back and forth, AT&T has finally made official its plan to offer free Wi-Fi access to iPhone owners. The deal, which applies to thousands of AT&T hot spots in the U.S., also includes company-owned Starbucks locations that offer Wi-Fi access. A decision had to be made.  Here is the original post iPhone or Blackberry. It was a tough decision. But based on feedback from employees, who are users of all sorts of smart phones, not one stood out. In fact, Blackberry was ruled out instantly along with Treo and anything AT&T. We have an AT&T flip phone (a few years old) and lost service driving between towns with the clinic that would be visited monthly. In our process of moving, so does our phone service.  It seems that Ashland, WI is an alltell world, while here in the Minneapolis, MN it is ‘anything goes’.  We have been happy with At&t and would be interested in the iPhone (since we already have the iTouch), but we would need a $400 cell phone booster for the car when we travel outside the little town visiting other little towns.
