2010 Free Comic Book Day

September 21, 2009

The Free Comic Book Day Committee is currently accepting publisher applications for the 2010 FCBD Program. All comic book and graphic novel publishers are eligible to apply for the Program. The application deadline is Oct. 15.

Free Comic Book Day provides comic book specialty retailers with a unique opportunity to showcase their comic shops with the latest offering from publishers. Publishers supply their books at a nominal cost, which retailers then hand out for free to their customers to help promote the medium and the publisher’s title. In return, publishers are expected to provide marketing support for their title and the entire Free Comic Book Day event.

Publishers wishing to apply should contact PR Associate Elissa Lynch via email for an application and complete set of guidelines.

What Is Free Comic Book Day?

Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.
