After a mistake during a grieving time Stephanie Brown was given Batgirl costume by Cassandra Cain. With this little error DC takes the opportunity to bring back Batgirl for a 3rd series.
Stephanie Brown graduated from high school, is a student at Gotham University. Get this, she is living at home with her mother, so that makes her a commuter student with a secret life at night, sounds a little Buffy to me.
The new identity of this new Batgirl is a major plot theme throughout the 3rd series. Both Gotham City heros and villians don’t like it.
The Gotham City Heros, especially original Batgirl (aka now wheelchair bound Oracle) Barbara Gordon. Miss Barbara Gordon is so jealous she confronts the new Batgirl. Too bad no chick fight.
While, Gotham City Villains are pissed that there is a Bat-Family member alive and kicking and want to see her dead.
Batgirl is now alone. Isn’t that a beginning of a great Batman Batgirl story.
