Quite Interesting Facts of the Day
Amsterdam is famous for its red-light district and readily available drugs, but is less well-known for the huge number of accountants that work in it. The Rolling Stones, Ikea and MTV are all registered as Amsterdam companies for tax purposes.

Stupid Company Said What
Women are 40% of technology profits. So what do tech companies think women want? You guessed it pink. Stupid companies think that we will buy the next gaming console because it is pink. The reason women are only 40% buying technology is because when it comes to large ticket items, technology and relationships . . . we invest. We are not as fickle or gullible towards commercials as men. Go ahead and slap a pink ribbon on that 100″ television screen or “Hello Kitty” on that netbook . . . until it has a warranty similar to Coach bags we will stick with what we have. (wired . . .)

Finally The FCC Get WordPress Blog
“Blogband will keep people up-to-date about the work the FCC is doing and the progress we’re making,” FCC Chief Julius Genachowski announced on Tuesday. “But we want it to be a two-way conversation. The feedback, ideas, and discussions generated on this blog will be critical in developing the best possible National Broadband Plan”. So they want feedback. MMMM – Right now the comments are sort of anonymous, when the tech/geek community starts giving feedback . . . I assume that anonymous will be removed. The site is already using hoverIntent to follow your mouse on the page and the hidden field is an email address (914897001250693432@fcc.gov). (arstechnica . .)

Microsoft Hates USA
Even though Microsoft pays for a study to promote IE, steals software, copies programming code without permission and has a history of unethical decisions . . . Microsoft is charging more for Windows 7 in US than in UK – even with the conversion rate. Even though it took more programming power to allow ballot choice for browser. Why isn’t Microsoft corporate office in the UK? Because Microsoft would have to pay fine after fine to the EU. Here in the US we welcome cheating, corruption and unethical professional.
