Blog Bounce

Freakonomics :: Part of the New York Times blog stable, has taken on added importance in an era when everyone’s life is being buffeted by economic storms. Whether it’s reporting that more people now are searching Google for “coupons” than for “Britney Spears,” speculating on how the downturn could be good for grandparents, or revealing what economists have in common with garbage (neither gets picked up at a party), Freakonomics is a daily reminder that life is essentially a game of supply and demand. (Freakonomics . . .)

Website Watch

The final bill includes $507 billion in spending programs, with more than $150 billion to spend on public works projects for transportation, energy, and technology, and $282 billion in tax relief.

The US is not alone in its efforts to dig itself out of a deep economic hole. Here, the Law Library of the Library of Congress offers reports on hos 16 other nations and the European Union are trying to stimulate their economies. (Library of Congress. . .)

Tech Quote

“If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it’s worth — and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago.”

Cover by Andy Clarke.

Batgirl returns to bust heads on the streets of Gotham City and redefine her place in the Bat-family in this new collection!

A story that sees Batgirl on a quest to conquer her inner demons and prove herself to the world.

Batgirl is on the search for David Cain and Slade Wilson. She fears that she may break her oath to never again take a life. Her investigation leads her to two gun shippers who provide her with the name of a manufacturer, Armand Lester. She later returns to the Batcave to crosscheck the name in the database. Nightwing arrives, and doesn’t like the idea of Cassandra having unsupervised access to the Batcomputer. The two briefly spar, but Batman and Robin arrive to break up the fracas. Batman vouches for Cassandra’s integrity, but adds that he is constantly monitoring her. Batgirl leaves and continues her personal investigation. Her search brings her to a factory where a costumed woman named Marque is torturing three innocent civilians.

Now that Batgirl has finally gained Batman’s trust, it’s time to conquer her inner demons and prove herself to the rest of the world. This six-issue epic will take Cassandra on an intense, personal journey involving friends, family and foes!

Evernote :: Evernote allows you to easily capture information in any environment using whatever device or platform you find most convenient, and makes this information accessible and searchable at any time, from anywhere. Cool, right?

How does Evernote do it? Three steps:

1. You capture the things you want to remember using what you already useâ”your Windows or Mac computer, the web, and your mobile phone.

2. We run everything through our recognition technology, and then synchronize it across your devices. You can then organize and tag the notes, if you wish.

3. When you want to find something, just search or filter and there it is just like you remember it.

Available for all Operating Systems (Apple, Windows and Linux) and mobile apps. (Get it Here . . .)
