Songbird ::A new audio player on the internet with unique features. It is, however, not a mature project yet – but for the enthusiast it is definitely worth a try. Songbird is built around the mozilla web browser (Firefox) – and is thus built around embedded a html/web interface, which also can be used for web browsing. Just like Firefox, Songbird has extensions – among them, one that adds iPod support.
More unique features includes being able to detect audio files, such as mp3, on webpages accessed through the embedded web browser. These mp3 files can then be played directly off the page, and even added to you music library. Apart from mp3, Songbird also plays AAC, OGG, FLAC and WMA files. Look and feel can be changed using skins and choosing between one of the many languages supported. Upcoming features include CD ripping and burning. (Get it Here . . . )
