The state legislature in alcohol-unfriendly Utah is considering a bill that would require bars and restaurants to prepare all alcoholic beverages behind a 10-foot wall. A Senate committee approved the measure, designed to protect children from the tempting sight of drinks being mixed.
Liquor commissioner Gordon Strachan voiced his opposition.
â’Not only is the cost significant,â’ said Strachan, â’it makes Utah look even stranger.â’
If you would like to see this bill go the Utah State Legislature office online.
While reading the bill a few lines peaked my interest:
- removes restrictions related to election days;
- changes the insurance and liability limits related to dramshop; (Dram shop or dramshop is a legal term in the United States referring to a bar, tavern or the like where alcoholic beverages are sold. Traditionally, it referred to a shop where spirits were sold by the dram, a small unit of liquid.)
They are throwing a smoking ban in this bill also, but the publicity is trump by the “Wall War”.

ahhh memories.
All I have to say to that is love it or leave it. They are the majority and they run the show. Once people (me) realize that it isn’t that bad of a place to live.
