I search the internet for the best quality and best price for :

I am looking for purchase a Nokia N810.  Nokia online has it “unlocked’ for $394.00. I wonder why it needs to be unlocked . . . it isn’t a phone. I start with my usual store,Tiger Direct, is out of stock. Now I have to look to alternative sources.  I am not happy about that just because I would like it all including extended warranty. So here I go . . .

First stop the trash can of technology, Ebay:

  • Average new price $228.53
  • Average used price $203.19

But none have the full package that I would get with Tiger Direct. Disappointing.

Amazon

  • Best Price Used : $209.00
  • Worst Price Used: $358.00
  • Best Price New: $239.99
  • Worst Price New: $379.00

Google Product Search

  • Best Price: $199.99 (but when I followed the link . . . backorder)
  • Next Best Price: $213.99 (21 day process time

Going down the google line . . . one after another out of stock/back order, Walmart (skipping), Amazon . . .  WTF?  I begin to realize that Google Product search is worth nothing.  Most of the stores I have never even heard of before, they are not getting my credit card.

Yahoo Shopping Search

  • Yikes! $472.00!!!!  I could buy a whole computer for that price.
  • It takes me to Dell $260.00

Not in stock at Best Buy, Frys, Target, CompUSA, MicroCenter, Newegg had accessories but no device, or Geeks.com.

I am starting to see why this is expensive, hard to get. Going with Amazon.
