â’Demographic Winter: Decline of the Human Family,â’ (DW) is the first of two documentary films to explore aspects of demographic decline. Produced by Barry McLerran and directed by Rick Stout and Steven Smoot, analyzes what could be the greatest threat confronting humanity in the 21st century, underpopulation, of the wrong kind.
“Religious observance has been shown to correlate with higher birthrates. The increasing secularization of Western societies has been accompanied by lower birthrates.”
DW’s concept of living together before marriage, budgeting child births, gay marriages, divorce rate and yes the 60′s social experiments will lead to a catastrophic problem . . . self-destructive cultural superiority, economic status and political power.
â’The ongoing global decline in human birthrates is the single most powerful force affecting the fate of nations and the future of society in the 21st. century.â’
DW’s fear of the social. political and class structure changes and the impact on such things as laws, voting pracitcies, social status, open technology, global education, commerce and global economy. If the wrong families are having children and entire national social, education, economic and cultural structure change we might end up with a society based on Rawlism (Philosophy based on John Rawl).
“Mass immigration changes the national character of the host country. Immigrants tend to have a lower education level than natives. Many never learn the language of their new home or identify with its history and heritage. This changes the social and political makeup of the host countries, in some cases so dramatically that it is causing social and political unrest.”
DW’s plea for procreation, “please don’t have ‘those’ people take care of me in my old age”.
Personal Response
There is a fundamental problem with the math and statistics, or at least what I see from the preview . . . counting. There is a worldwide population growth constant. The math/stats are purely based on cultural/ethnic level.
For example; the largest group growing (via procreation) in the United States is not pure Caucasian families (except those who are socially irresponsible religious fanatics with double digit offspring), but the Hispanic.
The complaint of population grown in France, United Kingdom, United States and other counties (specifically mentioned) is not only based on cultural fear, lost of country identity, and the crying over the slow death of ‘pure bred’ citizen. This film is not about population growth problem, it is about the ‘wrong kind’ of population. Which is about change, fear and self identity.
The fear of being a minority is great for those who have been in the majority. The fear to loose cultural, country and social status or identity when superiority has been based on just the ideals of such matters can be not only scary but leads to erratic leadership (Holocaust and Hitler, US and Japanese Americans).
Basically, the population of the world is a constant, and will still grow (with modern estimation) to over 9 billion by year 2050 (see UN website and US Census).

If Europe continues with their current birthrates, the entire continent will be overrun with Muslims by the end of the next century. Then how will those “enlightened” people feel when they’re living under Sharia law?
