The internet indeed has changed how most of internet savvy individuals watch television. It seems that, Hulu not Youtube or Torrent user will change television viewing in the US. I have already reviews major networks that most have access to either via satellite or cable in Part I. Part II will be reviewing more obscure or niche market networks.
- The Weather Channel
- This service does a god job connecting with their users through desktop installations, widgets, emails and other great tools. Although, I hear most people watching The Weather Channel as they get ready in the morning. The most popular feature is the desktop installation, it give warnings right away.
- TNT
- The only thing to say about DramaVision “Charmed”. The rest are clips and character development. There is some ‘web exclusive” content that can be viewed, but isn’t really updated.
- Comedy Central
- After Comedy Central seeing all their clips splattered on Youtube they took matters into their own webspace. You can find all kinds of, yes, clips. just clips. Other options for full episodes go to South Park.
- TBS
- Selected full episodes are an option, but, they have been quite particular with their episodes. For example; having only part 1 of a 2 part episode. But, for the most part, it is a college to view TBS programming.
- HGTV
- Limited clips. Not one full episode on the site.
- C-SPAN
- If you are a political junkie (like myself) you can appreciate the vast information. There are many options to get C-SPAN information.
- C-SPAN is not the only option in town. There is also, C-SPAN 2, C-SPAN 3, broadband C-SPAN, C-SPAN radio, C-SPAN podcasts, and Capital Hearings.
- If you are a political junkie (like myself) you can appreciate the vast information. There are many options to get C-SPAN information.
- SCI FI
- Hurray for SCI FI channel! They get it. Right now you can get full episodes of their popular original programming on SCI FI Rewind or watch them on Hulu.
- Fine Living
- Limited clips. Not one full episode on the site.
- USA
- Hurray for USA Network! They get it. Right now you can get full episodes of their popular original programming on USA or watch them on Hulu.
Who knew there was so much content online. So far, Hulu is winning out on YouTube. To watch an episode in 9 mins sections vs the entire episode with one 15 second commercial every 15 mins. Part III will be reviewing more obscure or niche market networks. Basically, it seems, if you have a television just hook it up to a computer and toss your cable or satellite viewing. Going to one or two websites to catch all the content you already watch is significantly cheaper than any cable or satellite bill, no matter the package.
